Procedural Texts and Writing

This week we are learning about procedural text. Today we read How to Teach a Slug to Read. This book is perfect for teaching little ones about procedural text. The steps in the book are numbered and it is formatted so that there is only one step per page.

After reading the book, we wrote our own procedural text for how to teach a kindergartner to read. Then students modeled each step so that we could add pictures to our directions.
