BEST.MOM.EVER.

I hope all of you did not forget.. today is Mother’s Day and you might want to tell your mom how much you love her if you didn’t already.
I know this day is not special, but it is a little reminder. Like Christmas, but for oooone person only. The bestest of the best. Our Moms.

I wanted to keep it short and not too personal on here, because I have a call to make to my own Mommy now. I just want to say..

I love you, thank you for not only being a mom, but also my best friend. You gave up your old life for me, were my age when I came and made me grow up in a happy and perfect environment. I am so proud to be your son, through thin and thick, through better and worse, you always put me first, as the biggest priority. Thanks for not being a regular mom, but a cool mom. Thank you for being the last parent to stay at my graduation ball, dancing with all my friends, having so much fun. Thank you for being a grown-up, without really growing up. Thank you for ‘Armer Ritter’ on sunday, or for opening a tent in my room when there were friends sleeping over.

I remember walking to school with you, asking you why the dog barks and the cat meow’s. I remember you standing in front of me, telling that tall kid he’d better back off and stop making jokes about me in first grade. Or this group of 10 guys, who screamed that I’m a faggot, when you were around. I remember you saying ‘wait here’ and going back to them, screaming at them and being a real bad ass, even if those guys were three or four heads taller than you. I loved that, you are my hero, always been that way, always will!
I remember you calling my dad, telling him about my coming-out, even if I told you I wanted to wait. You always knew what’s best for me, probably because you’re a mom and mom’s always know everything best. Even if you lead me in the right way, you never pushed me into something I did not want. You let me be however I wanted to be (or actually : was meant to be). Buying me barbies without even worrying. I remember you rooting for me at the theatre performances, school stuff and at everything that had to do something with the blog. You were always there and you still are. Even if there’s 600km apart, there’s not a day I spend without thinking about you. I love you, mom.

”per me, la festa della mamma dovrebbe essere tutti i giorni, perché nessuno merita piu’ attenzioni di te. auguri a una mamma di serie A : Amica, Affetuosa, Amorevole. ti amo, mauri.”
