Bleu My Mind

When I am obsessed with something, it’s literally all I want to do, or in this case wear. It’s like that silly little meme floating around says, ‘this is how my brain works,’ and there is a light switch labeled uninterested and utterly obsessed.

I am utterly obsessed with blue.

I tend to do this with a color at least once every couple of years or so. In high school, it was hot pink. In college, it was dark brown. Up until recently it was olive green. Now, I’m pretty sure it’s blue. Blue shoes, blue bags (and hopefully a Chanel), blue coats, the perfect blue polishes, I even taken to adding a little bit of blue eyeliner to the outer corners of my bottom water line.

I didn’t realize it, until last weekend, when I was home in Harrisburg, at my parents house, my mom and I were going to shoot each other’s outfits and this is how I came downstairs.

Wearing: a light blue faux leather Zara moto-jacket, American Eagle boyfriend jeans, Diane von Furstenberg Anette suede pumps, Furla mini candy satchel, Erin Fetherston for JewelMint cat ear headband and a t-shirt bearing the 2014 interpretation of one of my favorite bible verses (write the vision, make it plain): blog your dreams. Oh, and a specially-knit scarf just for me from my Boo, Arianna.

Sacrebleu! So much bleu, er, blue.

I first spied this shirt on Melissa of Super Glam News and then immediately bought one from Furor Moda. As superficial as blogging may seem, it is a means to an end for a new breed of creative hustlers–a way to dream out loud. And I’m so, so, thankful for it.

When I was home, I read a bunch of old journal entries. I was so grateful for a place to call my own as I learn and grow, figuring out who I am.

My baby girl will be four soon (eek!) and seeing how far I’ve come inspired me–also Yasmein lit a fire under my *ss, I’ve become a bit lax with the posting, maybe you noticed?–makes me want to continue to really build something that I can be proud of.

… You know, and blogging my dreams along the way. I’m really fighting the urge to quote

Biggie here, guys. Aw man, eff it, whoever thought that blogging could take us this far?
