On leopard bikes and cost-per-ride ratio

Fashion minded peddlers… this post is for you!

You know things are taking a turn for the better if leopard print is infiltrating all aspects of your life. So when the news of a leopard print bike got to me, I had to find out what it was all about.

Now I should admit that I already have a sturdy black bike with a huge basket in front that I use to transport all of my work stuff in. If you’re not from here, people in Amsterdam do everything by bike – we drink our coffee in the morning while being on the phone and wearing heels. Snow or rain? We’ll make it work.

So I have got my daily commute covered. But the idea of a playful and light race bike has been in the back of my head for a long time. I blame the Selby for putting an elegant race bike on my wish list (if I can’t kick my lazy but into workout mode, I can always hang it on my wall, right?).

Now let’s talk details. When I posted a photo of the pink and orange print Popal-bike that ELLE designed, you guys went nuts. So did I, to be honest, since I’m the first one to test drive it. And if you want to get your hands on your very own, don’t be fooled by overwhelming price tags. This one comes with an ELLE subscription for 199 euros (instead of the regular five hundred).

Now that’s a cost-per-ride ratio I can get behind.

FYI: the bikes are available to order now and will be shipped out in June.
