Review: Estee Lauder Crescent White Full Cycle Brightening

I am always game for brightening skin care. I usually rotate it with my anti ageing and I always use a serum for hydration. When it comes to brightening skin care from Estee Lauder, the name Cyber White pops into my head. It has been around for quite a few years. So I got curious when this is called Crescent White instead. This is a 24-hour brightening system which is gentle for year long use. It protects by day and repairs by night. Sounds like something a skin care superhero would say. Basically, this system corrects existing spots and prevents future spots. It calms down the skin, prevents dullness and discolorations. Not a new concept. Then again, how radical can skin care be without being scary? LOL!

The first thing I would like to point out however, is the scent of these products. They SMELL GREAT! Nothing like perfume, and I can’t detect the scent of alcohol either. It’s a very lovely subtle floral scent. The texture is another thing to note. I always complained that Estee Lauder should hold back on the silicones, and guess what? NONE of these products have that slippery silicone texture. THANK YOU ESTEE LAUDER FOR LISTENING!

The Crescent White Full Cycle Brightening Cleanser (RM145) is a foaming cleanser that is very rich. A tiny bit is enough for creamy lather. However, my skin has been a little dry lately, so this cleanser tugs on my skin. I follow this with the Crescent White Full Cycle Brightening Moisture Treatment Lotion (RM190) and immediately my skin feels better. The treatment lotion hydrates and preps the skin for the treatments to follow. .

In any skin care regime, the serum is the most potent. Serums contain serious skin care ju ju and that’s why I’m a serum junkie! The Crescent White Full Cycle Brightening Spot Correcting Essence (RM380) evens our skin tone and significantly reduces the look of dark spots. The texture of this serum is liquid and it is absorbed very quickly into the skin. Of all the products featured here, this essence smells the best After using it for about 2 months, I notice my skin looks brighter, more even toned and less tired. However, it did not lighten any of my freckles.

In a skin care routine, we always moisturize after serums. The Crescent White Full Cycle Brightening Moisture Crème (RM265) is suitable for both day and night use. It is light enough for a humid day and also rich enough to keep my skin hydrated while I sleep. And you know what? If I use the Estee Lauder ANR serum BEFORE the Crescent White Essence and Moisturizer, I find that my skin is even more supple. In the day, I always follow this with a SPF50 sunscreen. If you like to use everything of the same range, there is the Crescent White Full Cycle Brightening UV Protector SPF 50/PA (RM180) which I don’t have.

Last but not least, this brightening range includes a BB cream in their lineup – The Crescent White Full Cycle Brightening BB Creme SPF 50/PA & Brightening Balm (RM185). This is a universal shade but it leans peach. On my yellow based skin tone that turns red easily, peach is not a good color match. However, the coverage is quite sheer hence forgiving on the mismatched shade. While sheer, this BB cream does even out my skin tone and blurs out my pores and imperfections. I like to use this under my powder foundation. After applying the BB cream all over my face, I apply the Brightening Balm on my cheeks before powdering on top. This gives me a slight glow without looking greasy.

I’m really happy about the change in scent and texture of these new products. They work well on my skin and I’m comfortable to recommend these to you. If I were to pick just a couple of products though, I’d say go for the essence and the BB cream. I like these 2 the best

xoxo Lily
