Review: Eve Lom Cleanser
Most of you should know by now that I’m a fan of cleansing oils. I have reviewed a few, and am also trying a few. I’d like to share with you something Vogue claimed as “probably the best cleanser in the world”, a 25-year-old cleanser that has achieved cult status. I introduce to you The EVE LOM Cleanser. It is suitable for all skin types, skin concerns and environmental conditions. It is one of the items in my “To Try List” and I’m glad I was approached to try it. Does this cleanser live up to its name?
The EVE LOM Cleanser (100ml, RM295) comes with a 100% cotton muslin cloth. In the tub, the cleanser is a creamy yellow with some beads for exfoliation purposes. There is a subtle scent to this cleanser which I’d describe as slightly lemony slightly green. I can’t put my finger on it, but it’s not unpleasant. I like to take a little bit of this cleanser, warm it in my hands and then massage it onto my dry face. I start with the centre of my face, onto my forehead, chin and the rest of my face including my neck. As I wash my hands, I wet the muslin cloth with warm water then wipe away the oil on my face in gentle circular motion. The oil from my hands wash off quite easily, and my face feels very soft and clean after. No other cleanser is needed after using The EVE LOM Cleanser, and since it exfoliates and tones as well, I guess you can skip toner. I have a habit of using toner, so I maintain that step before using my serum and moisturizer. EVE LOM actually recommends a more thorough cleansing ritual, but I find it a little too time consuming. If you’re one who prefers hassle free cleansing, wet face, lather with cleanser, rinse and pat, then you might find this troublesome. However, it might be the combination of the cleanser and the muslin cloth exfoliation, the result has been pleasantly positive.
I have been using this cleanser for the last few weeks on a nightly basis and my skin feels great. I did not break out from the mineral oil in the ingredients, and there are no clogged pores either. This cleanser removes makeup very well. There are no traces of leftover makeup and I just have to mention again how soft and refined my skin feels after using this cleanser. I did not use any other exfoliators while I’m using this cleanser. I have to admit, I have grown to really really like The EVE LOM Cleanser!
