Weird Things that Mommies Do

Yesterday I was playing with my daughter, who is 16 months old now, and started thinking about all the weird things that mommies do. So for those of you who are not mommies, I'll give you a taste of your future...and for all the current mommies, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.

  1. "I'm going to bite your legs/butt/arms/cheeks/face!" I don't know why, but babies are just so cute that you literally want to just bite them...playfully, of course. I do this all.the.time.
  2. Trying baby food. Am I the only one who just had to try a bite? For the record, it was nasty.
  3. Patting their legs/bottom while you're holding them. Why is that every time I hold my daughter, I just start patting her legs or butt. You all know what I'm talking about. What's up with that?
  4. Sniffing. I try not to be that person who does this in public, but we've all held our babies up and just took a whiff. How else will you know for sure if you smelled poopy?!
  5. Singing - about everything. Not a day goes by that I don't make up some silly little song for my daughter. Usually something along the lines of "prettiest little tiny baby girl, living in her pretty baby world". This is Mozart, people.
  6. Having long, in-depth discussions with your kid. Even when they don't understand a word. One-sided conversations are the best.
  7. Taking pictures of you're kid when they're crying. I think we've all let our kid cry instead of comforting them because we just had to get a picture of that face.
  8. Putting stuff on their head. Funny hats, bowl, tupperware, diapers...it never stops being funny.
This is just a short list, but man, we mommies are weird people!
What weird things do you do with your kids?
