KENZO’S PSYCHEDELIC FOREST

The other day I went on a big internet window shopping hunt for a good shirt (I have a pair of perfect black pants now but very few actual shirts to wear with them) and it was sooooooooo boooooooooring. I don’t feel like I have a very specific style these days, so I don’t have any real go-to favorite retailers for clothing. I’m definitely in a major, “I’ll know it when I see it” mode. I looked at a lot of different sites and felt super uninspired. Everything seemed too simple or too over the top, too trendy or too much like the new-ish, discarded stuff that fills the thrift store racks.

But then, I came across these totally amazing prints from the KENZO Spring ’13 collection. I saw that shifting forest print on this cardigan and fell right in. I felt almost offended that no one told me about this because it is 100% My Perfect Thing. PSYCHEDELIC FORESTS. Of course in Oregon we have pretty chill forests, but after visiting the tropical rainforest in Hawaii my love for this vibe grew even deeper. Seeing flowers blooming in the woods, crazy giant vines, ridiculous textures of bamboo forests on the side of a mountain, ugh I could just die. These prints are pulled directly from my dreams. This is why I love fashion, and I want MORE of this feeling. I don’t even care that it’s all unattainably priced, I just felt glad that SOMETHING spoke to me.
