ROOM OF THE WEEK :: 2.19

With my impending trip to Marrakesh at the end of the week, it’s safe to say I have Moroccan style on the brain. While I will admit that I am thiiiiiis close to refusing to order another Beni Ourain rug for a client, there is a way to infuse Moroccan style into a room that still feels unexpected and heavenly, and my friend and designer Brian Paquette did just that when it came to this house.

The room in question, funny enough, doesn’t have a hit-you-over-the-head Moroccan vibe. But it did inspire the quiet touches of Moroccan influence throughout the home – the turned legs on the dining table leading the charge.

With a beauty like that, the ghost chairs (and ghostly chandelier) are a nice touch – allowing the bold lines of the dining room table to stand out. But how I have not even mentioned the wallpaper yet!?

It’s stunning, no? I love that the rest of the room feels very modern with some worldly touches. And for those wondering about the Moroccan vibe in the rest of the house…

Well, this just happens to be my favorite corner. In fact, I’m suggesting that chaise to a client tomorrow because it’s so good.

The touch of industrial is unexpected and light, which I love.

See more of the project right here. Me? I’ll be counting down the days until I’m curled up in a corner like this one… in Morocco.
