Who: NYX Butter Gloss
What: NYX Cosmetics are gearing up for a big UK launch, and something tells me their Butter Gloss lip colours are going to fly off shelves. If you’re not already familiar with the US beauty brand here’s a little bit of background info… NYX was launched in LA, back in 1999, by Toni Ko who was 25 at the time. Her goal? To produce heavily-pigmented, quality products at an accessible price point. She certainly succeeded, and the Butter Gloss collection is one of the brand’s bestsellers.
Why: Don’t let the teen-appropriate packaging put you off, because this is a seriously sophisticated gloss formula. I’ve been using the delicate pink shade ‘Vanilla Creme Pie’ non-stop, and when applied it looks identical to a £26 luxury gloss that I own. There are currently 12 colours in the NYX Butter Gloss UK collection – ranging from sheer nudes to vibrant brights – and all are long-wearing, well-pigmented and non-sticky. It’s also worth noting that there’s no shimmer in Butter Gloss, which is a major plus point in my opinion.
Where: £6.50 at nyxcosmetics.co.uk and nyxcosmetics.com
