Ladybug Oreos

These Ladybug Oreos are the perfect Spring treat!

Are these totally cute or what?!

I have been looking for something to use my Oreo mold pan for ever since I made my Peppermint Bark Oreos. I know lots of people who are Oreo dipping challenged (myself included) and this mold makes it a BREEZE! Seriously life changing.

Also, yes. I live the kind of life that can be changed by a $4 mold. SO SUE ME. Not all of us can be super important and interesting, okay? If we were, then no one would be interesting or important because EVERYONE would be interesting and important.

So what I’m saying is, I’m doing a public service. YOU ARE WELCOME.

Awhile back, Bakerella sent me a box full of stuff from her new Make’n Mold line, and I’ve been dying to use it! It’s all so totally cute and she has the most amazing attention to detail. Her candy eyes are blank and come with a food writer, so you can make them look however you want! And her lollipop sticks are striped instead of plain white. So, so fun!!

Also, I was invited to a retreat a few years ago and Bakerella was invited also. I may or may not have been completely geeking out over this because A) she is basically the whole reason I started blogging and B) she’s hung out with Blake Lively who is MARRIED TO RYAN REYNOLDS, hello. So stupid me, was trying to play it cool like, “oh hello, yes, you are Bakerella, this is not a big deal to be hanging out with you at all,” except for that I kept CALLING HER BAKERELLA. Instead of her name, which is Angie. Who even does that? Me, that’s who. So embarrassing.

So what I’m saying is, if you ever want to be a cool person, maybe don’t hang out with me in public.

These little guys (ladies?) are so cute and so easy. And with Spring right around the corner, they’re just perfect!

To make these Ladybug Oreos, you need red candy wafers, regular Oreos, mini oreos, mini M&M’s, DIY Sugar Eyes, and an Oreo mold. Or you could forgo the Oreo mold and just do the dipping yourself…but I am not liable for any drips or lumps, okay? You’re on your own with that one.

If you want to make pops out of these Ladybug Oreos, you’ll need lollipop sticks, too!

To make these:

Melt your red candy wafers according to package directions. Place a spoonful of melted candy in the mold, top with a cookie, and fill remainder of mold with melted red candy. Spread to evenly cover, and repeat. Pop the pan in the fridge until candy has hardened.

Once candy has hardened, remove Oreos from pan and attach candies and mini Oreos using melted red candy wafers. I twisted the mini Oreos in half and stuck them on filling side down. If using lollipop sticks, attach them to the back using melted candy. Pop back in the fridge until attached candies and sticks are set.

That’s it! One bag of red candy wafers is enough to make 12 of these.

These would be so so fun for birthday parties…or Easter…or your typical Wednesday afternoon. You know, just a normal little snack.

These brightened up my week for sure. Enjoy and have a happy Monday!
