Weekly Reads #196: March 21, 2015
It’s finally looking like spring in Kobe. We’ve had high temperatures of 20 degrees Celsius (about 68 degrees Fahrenheit), and I’ve even started wearing spring clothing!
On the same day that I went outside without a coat on, I saw my friends in New York post pictures of snow on Instagram. Snow! In late March!!!
What were your favorite posts this week?
- The beginner’s guide to cruelty-free makeup, via Phyrra. Phyrra has the most comprehensive information on which brands are cruelty-free. Although your tastes in makeup may not be as colorful as hers, I recommend her blog for great information.
- Critiques, criticisms, and judgment, via Future Derm. I realize that people I work with who are closer in age to me tend to be more critical.
- What do you wear around the house? via Capitol Hill Style. I completely agree that some style bloggers wear lounge wear that looks really unrealistic! (I wear sweats or jeggings)
- Guide to food photography, via Serious Eats. I read a lot of blog posts on food photography because there are many aspects which are similar to photographing in beauty blogging. My biggest headache right now is that my current apartment has horrible lighting!
- Soft chewy peanut butter chocolate chip cookies, via Brown Eyed Baker. Just this week, I made chocolate chip cookies for the first time in a very long time. Maybe I’ll try this recipe next time.
