Even though I’ve been trying to hold on to the last days of summer, the calendar tells me that fall is officially here!

There isn’t much that can make me turn my back on chilled glasses of rosé, patio dining, and days spent at the beach, but the change of season secretly makes me happy because I’m able to break out some of my new purchases for fall. This emerald green, shift dress lured me in with its rich, luxurious color plus the shade looks dynamite with gold. Who am I to resist?

So over the weekend, Michael and I attended a couple’s shower for one of my oldest friends from high school and it was the perfect temperature to don this dress and toast the happy couple under the stars. With bistro-style globe lights criss-crossing the perfectly decked out backyard space, chilled glasses of champagne at the ready, and appetizers that included my guilty pleasure–pretzel bites and zesty cheese sauce–it was the perfect fall fête.
