I have always kept all of my pictures on a hard drive. In fact, my hard drive is currently loaded with close to 700 GB of pictures. A recent study showed that these types of hard drives can lose data if they aren’t powered on, especially in warmer environments.“A powered-off drive in 104 degrees Fahrenheit may start seeing data loss after a couple of weeks.” http://bit.ly/1Eub22a
I would be so sad when the day came that I wouldn’t be able to access my pictures. But if I know better I can do better. That is why I was so happy to learn about M-Disc Permanent Storage Solution.
If you would like more information about the M-Disc technology you can watch this video.
To burn the M-Disc you will need to have an optical drive. Look for the “M-DISC” logo on the box. M-DISC works in any Blu-ray writer. Drives are relatively inexpensive, and if you’re going to archive, you’ll probably want your own.
If you are someone who takes a lot of pictures like me, I highly reccomend the M-Disc. It really is a low-cost, simple way to preserve the digital information that matters most.
I want to thank you for coming to my blog today and learning about the M-Disc and how to secure all of those digital memories. Long term storage of our digital photos, videos and documents is a problem that most people are unaware of. By sharing this post, you can help get the word out to your friends and followers. They must take steps for the long term preservation of their memories, or they will lose them.
