Barrett & Kitty Prozac

These photos were taken a few months ago when our house was still a mess. Barrett blended into the scenery like ET in the closet full of stuffed animals. The cats have been through hell over the last 6 months. All the remodeling has turned their lives upside down. All of them handled it fairly well, except for little Barrett. He started "acting out" by peeing on a few pieces of our furniture. I've never had to worry about cats peeing on stuff in the past. Not only is it stressful, it's heartbreaking because I know he is unhappy.

After other failed attempts, Barrett is now on kitty Prozac and I've made him a quiet place to hide when he is scared. We hope to see an improvement in his behavior in the next few months. I love him dearly and want to do everything in my power to make his life better. The medication takes awhile to start working and I'm having trouble giving it to him. He won't eat food that has the pills sprinkled on. When I try to mix with water and put it down his throat, I get more on me then in his mouth. Fail. There hasn't been any recent accidents since I have contained him into one area of the house. I love this little guy and will just keep trying to help him!
Have you had any behavior issues with pets before?
