Creating Happy Spaces // Studio Apartment

I am dreaming of moving into a studio apartment. Having furniture pieces that are multifunctional is very important in a smaller space. Some of the furniture items on my design board I already own and others are items I've seen while out shopping. Here is my design for my dream studio....

Most of the furniture is from IKEA. They really focus on small spaces and being organized. Number 15 is a gateleg table that is only 10 inches wide, perfect for a small apartment. We don't use our kitchen table daily, so I think the gateleg table may work best for us. I can't have a studio apartment without my expedit bookcase. It's my favorite piece of furniture I own. Below is some inspiration from Pinterest...

Nikki from Cupcakes For Breakfast has a very cute studio apartment. I love how she put her sofa at the end of the bed. See photos of her studio HERE.

Our current house is over 2,000 square feet and we hardly use any of it. I know living in a 400 square feet space or less isn't for everyone. I can't wait though! For me it means less housework, no remodeling projects, and less clutter. I would have more time to focus on photography, design, blogging, exercise, and riding my bike. It also gives me a very challenging decorating project.

What is the smallest place you have ever lived in? How small do you think you could go?
