Creativity and Chocolate

DIY “Chanel coasters”

Once upon a time, when I was a little girl, I loved to play around with ironing beads. Creating my own little pieces of art in every color I could think of. Pretty much the same as my husband did when he was a little boy, instead he had this crush on Lego.

After the Lego inspired bags from Chanel I thought it would be fun to use my former crush for a Chanel DIY. A small home accessory, but also nice to use for a theme party. Coasters!

What do you need?
- ironing beads (I chose black and white but you can pick every color you want)
- large square template
- baking paper
- flat-iron

It took a while to figure out how to create the Chanel logo on the template but when I finally had it I made four coasters in less than half an hour. Of course it’s also possible to diminish or enlarge this pattern for smaller or larger coasters.

When the logo is there you can iron in with the baking paper in between and you’re done. Make sure you let your coarser cool down before removing it from the template. That’s to make sure it doesn’t rupture in the proces.

And this is the end result. You own black and white Chanel coasters. Although they’re only suited for cold drinks I think they turned out really cute and they’re way more unique than the basic coasters they sell in your local shopping centre don’t you think!

Hope you liked this new DIY and love to hear what was your favorite thing to do when you were little.
