Crochet Pattern: Doll Booties

I’ve been crocheting a long time, but just recently started making crochet doll clothes for 18″ dolls. Since my little girl just turned 3, she’s finally interested in playing with my old American Girl doll and dressing her up, which prompted me to design my own patterns. The first item I started playing around with making is the doll’s shoes. In fact, they are pretty easy to make and to customize (with a strap, or make into boots). You can also use this basic idea to make baby shoes!

Finished Size: booties fit a standard 18” doll, such as American Girl, Our Generation, or Springfield

Gauge:
6 sc = 2″ and 8 rows = 2″

Crochet Pattern: Doll Booties
Round 1: ch 7, 3 sc in second ch from hook, sc in next 4 ch, 3 sc in last ch, working along back side of ch, skip first ch, sc in next 4 ch, sl st in first sc: 14 sc

Round 2: ch 1, 2 sc in each of next 3 sc, sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in each of next 3 sc, sc in next 4 sts, sl st in first sc: 20 sc

Round 3: ch 1, working in back loops only, sc in each sc around, sl st in first sc: 20 sc

Round 4: ch 1, working in both loops, sc in each sc around, sl st in first sc: 20 sc

Round 5: ch 1, sc in next 11 sc, sc2tog 2 times, sc in next 5 sc, sl st in first sc: 18 sc

Round 6: ch 1, sc in next 9 sc, sc2tog 3 times, sc in next 3 sc, sl st in first sc: 15 sc

You can finish off here for a regular shoe, or you make the following:

Boots (after round 6 continue working sc in each sc around to make the leg as tall as you like):
