Crochet Pattern: Keara Scarf


Spring is certainly dragging its feet where I live, so a scarf is still handy to have around. This skinny scarf isn’t too bulky, and is perfect for wrapping around your neck on cool mornings and evenings and wearing draped over your shoulders for the rest of the day.

If you are familiar with Tunisian crochet, it’s a great TV project. If you are not familiar with it, take a look at some of our Tunisian crochet tutorials, including How to Crochet :Tunisian Simple Stitch (TSS) and How to Crochet: Tunisian Increase at the Beginning of a Row before you start.


Skill Level:

Finished Size: 60.5″ (53.5 cm) long, 4″ (10 cm) wide

Materials:
Medium Weight Yarn (approximately 200 yards)
Crochet Hook J (6.00 mm)

Gauge:
8 TSS = 2’’
6 rows = 2’’
Gauge Swatch: 2’’w x 2’’h (5 cm x 5 cm) ch 9.
Row 1: Forward Pass: pull up a loop in second ch from hook and in each ch across
Return Pass: ch 1, (YO, pull through 2 loops on hook) across: 8 TSS
Row 2 – 6: TSS in each TSS across: 8 TSS
Finish off.

Row 1: Forward Pass: ch 11, pull up loop in second ch from hook and in each ch across
Return Pass: ch 1, (YO, pull through 2 loops on hook) across: 10 TSS
Row 2: ch 1, TSS in first vertical bar, YO, skip 1 st, TSS in each TSS across: 11 sts
Row 3: repeat row 2: 12 sts
Row 4: ch 1, tss in first vertical bar, YO, skip 1 st, TSS in next YO, YO, skip 1 st, TSS in each TSS across: 13 sts
Row 5: Repeat row 4: 14 sts
Row 6: ch 1, TSS in first vertical bar, (YO, skip 1 st, TSS in next YO) 2 times, YO, skip 1 st, TSS in each TSS across: 15 sts
Row 7: sl st in first TSS, TSS in first YO, (YO, skip 1 st, TSS in next YO) 2 times, TSS in each TSS across: 14 sts
Row 8: sl st in first TSS, TSS in first YO, YO, skip 1 st, TSS in next YO, YO, skip 1 st, TSS in each TSS across: 13 sts
Row 9: sl st in first TSS, TSS in first YO, YO, skip 1 st, TSS in next YO, TSS in each TSS across: 12 sts
Row 10: sl st in first TSS, TSS in first YO, YO, skip 1 st, TSS in rem TSS: 11 sts
