Checks & Balances

There are some pieces you pick up and are like “Damn this is dope, but what the hell am I going to wear this with?” That was my exact thought when I got these apron pants from Matiere. While putting together a look when one piece has an unusual silhouette, you have to be super cognizant of your other hem lines. I paired the trousers with a simple black long sleeve tee that ended right above the apron as to not get too bogged down. It can be super tempting to go overly drapy, but if you don’t have model proportions (and I sure as hell don’t) then you can end up looking like a goth oopma loompa. To add some pop, I threw on my favorite coat which also happens to have it’s own pretty cool silhouette. Bright outerwear is super key if a large part of your wardrobe is on the dark and basics side. Like the title of the posts alludes, it’s all about checks and balances homie.
