Escape to Laguna {Pt. 2}

I have post vacation depression.

Okay, honestly that is a legitimate type of depression so all jokes aside: After a few days spent at the breathtakingly beautiful Montage Laguna Beach, I was trying to think of a way I could make the trip never end. The calming sounds of the ocean, sweet smells of the tropical landscape, softest linens I’ve ever touched and insanely delicious drinks & foods . . . on our last day at the Montage I truly wanted to bottle it all up. Instead, I adopted three tricks to taking my vacation home with me to avoid the post vacation blues.

1. On our Saturday afternoon visit to the most relaxing spa I’ve ever been in, I fell in love with the fresh lavender scent and tranquil atmosphere. So, I purchased one of their Lavender essential oils & candles. Last night I set up my bathtub, lit the candle and breathed in a piece of the Montage while sitting in my own home. It was quite lovely.

2. After my bath the husband was cooking up some dinner so I gave an effort toward re-creating the magnificent spicy margarita we had. The sweet difference in the Montage margarita {at least that I could pick up on} was that they used cucumber in the mix to cool off the spice. Over dinner we enjoyed our spicy margarita’s a-la-Montage.

3. Plain & Simple: We’re going back! I think the best way to get over being sad about the end of one trip, is to plan another. We have already decided that a trip to Montage Laguna Beach is going to be an annual getaway for us which makes saying goodbye to this incredible trip feel much more like “see ya later!”
