Feathered Friends | Scrapbooking my Weekend Adventure | My Mind’s Eye – Cut & Paste “Presh”

Welcome to another episode of my Weekend Adventures. I hope you all had a great time, whatever you were up to!

Over here and in blogger land there were a couple of exciting things going on. Jennifer from Jennifer Grace Creates hosted a weekend-long blog event “Focus Your Craft & Soul Blog Event” which started off with a blog hop on Friday evening, and in which I was part of. On Saturday and Sunday she posted new inspirations every hour (from 10am – 10pm) – what a great way to celebrate our hobby! She also is giving away prizes and there is still time to join in until next weekend. All the details are HERE on her blog.

I haven’t had time to look through all her ideas yet; I was in Bournemouth until Sunday which was an adventure of its own.

After a night out at the Poole Yacht Club (lovely food, excellent company) we had a lazy Saturday. The weather brightened up and in the afternoon we had blue skies and sunshine! And guess what?! I had forgotten my DSLR in Blandford. What a shame! I really could have got some nice shots from Branksome Beach in Poole on that day, but at least I had my phone to get some pictures. Here are a couple of my favourites:

On our Sunday morning walk with Obi the dog we went to Throop Mill in Bournemouth – one of my favourite places for having a leisurely walk. We spotted two swan nests, but unfortunately still no cygnet. Normally, when I have my camera with me, I shoot what ever comes across my lens. Not this time though. But I still can show you some pictures of my feathered friends around the mill I took back in March!

I spotted these animals (all birds!) around Throop Mill. When I had them printed I faced a bit of a dilemma: How to scrap them without using up a lot of space!? And then Maja had the great idea with inspiring me with a photo from the Atomium’s interior in Antwerp, Belgium. It showed atom-like seating pods – so I used the circle-idea for my layout!

To die cut the different sizes of photos and patterned paper I used my Spellbinder metal dies. A few more elements from the My Mind’s Eye collection Cut & Paste “Presh”, some banners from the patterned paper and the page in its basic set-up was done. I found the wooden birds in my stash, added my pale yellow title and finished it all off with blue, pink and golden splatter. All in all it seems like a quick page, but choosing the right size of circles and the right background colour for it took quite a while!

And now I’ve got all my feathered friends of Throop Mill on one, single page! Thanks Maja for your inspiration!

Hope I see you all on Wednesday with a new episode of My Take On… – just let me say this: it was inspired by Maja… again! ;)
