SNL called, they want their mom jeans back

Clogs: Swedish Hasbeens, Jeans: ASOS, Button up: Tradlands, Sweater: ASOS, Bag: Lily Jade
Practically as classic as SNL itself, everyone and their mom (ha!) has seen and loved the Mom Jeans skit, poking fun at this exact jean, insinuating that it's what a woman reaches for when she's in the depths of letting herself go, and no longer a woman, but a mom. Of course, this skit was created back in the early 2000's, when stuff like this was being encouraged, so if that was their current running standard for taste, I mean, can we reverse psychology that mess and say that in a WAY, they were actually encouraging us to go for the mom jean?? I'm gonna go ahead and say that we have Tina and Amy's blessing on this one.
I read a short, interesting article the other day about the word "flattering" and how it tends to ruin anything that we want to wear. It made me think. And it was a reminder, particularly in regard to the pants we put on our bodies, that beauty is always in the eye of the beholder, and the eye of the beholder is a living, breathing, morphing thing, no stranger to evolution and change in taste. In 2003, I would have been akin to low rise, slightly flared jeans. I also would have been 15 in 2003, so take that for what it's worth. In 2016 I feel akin to mid-rise skinny jeans with the occasional experimentation with pelvis emphasizing "mom jeans". And I have felt comfortable with my choices while wearing all of them, and all of the jeans that have come in between. Just this morning while wearing the aforementioned mom jeans, Tyson emphatically exclaimed how much he liked them. Specifically the deeply jean-ed area between my waist and my legs. He loved the pelvis you guys. THE PELVIS. And you know what, I do too. Maybe it's not "flattering." But hey if it's good enough for a backwards stamp of approval from Amy and Tina, it's good enough for me.
