Lisa Brown/Sami Lee | Definitely Lovely

June Summary

We know we say this every month but we can't believe we've reached the end of June! This month has been all about trying new things and injecting some colour into our everyday routines. Lisa was off to the US for the first half so some serious Sephora/Bath & Body Works hauling was on the cards on her return. This month also brought our lovely week of Summer so adapting the makeup/skincare routines was a must! Here's what you may have missed.

WEEK 1: We started off the month sharing our Top 5 Blogging Resources meaning websites which we've found extremely helpful during our blogging journey. This covers how to make your own blog design and some techy tips from our favourite websites. Continuing with the Nails of the Week feature, this week featured Barry M Sugar Apple, a gorgeous pastel green but does it compare with Essie Mint Candy apple? For a handbag friendly fragrance pick, we tried out two new fragrances from Le Soft Perfumes: Parisian Rapsody and Artist which have been living in our handbags ever since.

WEEK 2: In a quest to achieve Cara Delevingne esque eyebrows, Sami attempted the castor oil method in the How to Grow Your Eyebrows post. Still a work in progress but the eyebrows are coming along nicely! You might find it surprising there's a nail polish brand Sami hadn't tried before but now was the time to try the new ORLY Color Blast in Golden Chrome Foil. A metallic gold perfect for those Summer tans we can only dream of having. Speaking of trying out new things, Sami tried out the new Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara for long fluttery lashes, definitely one to get excited about. During this week Lisa returned from her holidays in America with a review of the Burts Bees Daily Indulgence Collection, a beautiful set to get buzzing about.. get it??...

WEEK 3: Moving on from the terrible puns. It has been pretty hot this month so in an effort to keep cool, Sami shared her Warm Summer Nights Routine filled with cooling sprays, hydrating moisturisers and a cooling eye gel for a comfortable sleep during the warm weather. A trip to America wouldn't be complete without visiting all the makeup/beauty stores so Lisa has been Haulin' In The USA with an extensive collection of products from Sephora, Bath & Body Works.. when in Rome.. do as the romans do? Sami couldn't get enough of metallic polishes so this weeks NOTW was Illamasqua's Viridian Nail Varnish, an old favourite with a gorgeous emerald green, metallic finish. In an effort to inject some radiance into her face, Sami tried out the new Emma Hardie Amazing Face Instant Radiance Mask. If the Moringa Cleansing Balm is as good as this stuff, pennies will need to be saved up!

WEEK 4: While the process of applying makeup seems to take a long time, Sami put her skills to the test with The Makeup Timer Test Tag to see exactly how long it takes to apply everyday makeup. The results were surprising! Now we can't say we're football fans but one thing world cup related we can get excited about is the Birchbox UK June 2014 - Global Strikers edition with products from around the globe. Lisa may have said it's the best beauty subscription box she's ever tried out! The darker nail polish shades don't get as much love around this time of year so Sami decided to break out her Nails Inc St Martin's Lane shade with a beautiful dark glossy finish for her NOTW. A product which we've both been loving lately is the Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist to not only cool you down during the warm weather, but to also help balance the skin which is perfect for our oily skin!

We've really enjoyed this month and hope you enjoyed the posts too! While we're sad June is over, July is something to be excited about as we're both celebrating our birthdays at the end of the month. While we may be turning a year older, there is cake so it's worth it!
