Lush Grease Lightning

While doing my yearly Lush bath bomb sale order, I noticed they had quite a few extra items in the sale. I'd heard a lot about Grease Lightning and how much other people rate it so I decide to give it a shot and see what all the fuss is about.

Over the years I've tried so many different spot treatments. Ones like tea tree oil sticks, witch hazel.. you name it. Normally they're much too strong and the pain is never worth the disappointing result. Thankfully, Grease Lightning is different.

Grease Lightning is a gel formula made from tea tree and witch hazel which you apply directly to the spot. Unlike the previous ones I've tried, this is probably the most gentle spot treatment I've come across. The gel has a sort of watery consistency and when you apply it on the skin, it feels very cooling and relaxing. Also as an added bonus, it's also a vegan product.

Once applied it dries and sort of forms a protective layer over the spot. As for it's effectiveness, after wearing it overnight I definitely did notice a reduction in my blemishes. I would say it's definitely not a miracle worker and they won't disappear completely overnight but with regular use it really makes a difference.

One thing I would say is that while it does reduce the spot size, it doesn't do so much for redness in my case. So if you're looking for something to reduce the redness, I'd recommend something like the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion which will absolutely reduce it.

I'm definitely impressed by Grease Lightning. It might be more effective on different kinds of spots but for anyone having problematic skin, I'd recommend giving it a go!
