Inside a Collector’s Paradise Outside of NYC
Heather and Bobby were just two art school grads when they moved into this six-room walk-up in Weehawken, NJ. Fast forward six months, and they have created such a layered paradise that I can barely look away. Heather has so many treasures that she employs storage units to house the home’s overflow (some of which is available in their Etsy Shop). Heather has always loved thrifting and hopes to transition this online shop into her own brick-and-mortar store in the near future.
Until that dream becomes a reality, the two are living the post-grad life in this 1890s attic apartment. The charm of that era, the craftsmanship of the architecture, and a bus stop to NYC right outside the door are what immediately sold Bobby on the space. Heather knew the home was for them when she saw the storage. She was most looking forward to incorporating charm and an eclectic vibe into the couple’s home, while Bobby’s style is more simple and minimal. Being the sweet man that he is, Bobby lovingly compromised and let Heather have full reign of the space when it came to design. He wouldn’t budge, however, on the couple’s agreement to always share the evening’s meal together. “It’s nice to know that no matter how crazy things are, we’ll always have a time to sit down with one another,” Heather gushes. My favorite part of this home is the stunning portraits that fill many of the home’s walls. Look for those, and so many more treasures in the full tour after the jump. Enjoy!—Garrett
