Thrifted, altered, and perfectly tacky

I don't know what it is about the tackier treasures at thrift stores, but I'm always drawn to them. Does it have ruffles? You've got my attention. Is it gold? Even better. Is it beaded? SOLD. Enter this vest, tank top, shirt thing, piece of tacky I can't even identify. It sucked me in from across the store, and before I even got to it I knew it was going to be mine. First, the after version, and second, the before version - lace armholes, 38" wide and all...

Although this was marked a size small, it was anything but; the arm holes were sagging nearly at my waist, and I had to take several inches out of each side to bring the bust from about 38" to right at 32". I also decided that since a lot of tacky was packed into this one garment, I'd tone it down a little by removing the lace from around the arm holes - and the fact that it felt like it was made of plywood may have also influenced my decision. So yeah, it's tacky as hell, and I'm not even sure how it's supposed to be worn, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't think it was $3.50 VERY well spent!

Have you come across any treasures lately? What's the tackiest or most awesome thing you've found while thrifting?
