Today I’ll be writing about a subject I know way too well and one I’ve been meaning to write about for a long time now. I’ll be telling you what I’ve learned from my experience with dry & dehydrated skin over the years.
What I’ve learned, over the years, is that in my case, the dryness comes and goes according to the season, my health, and my feelings. When I wasn’t feeling well, when I had stress, when I had stomach problems, my skin reacted. Stress can be really bad for your skin, but there are ways to treat your skin properly so it doesn’t break out so often. So start by going to your dermatologist as well, to tell you what you’re dealing with and how to treat it right, before doing anything else.
It took me years to understand, find the right products, and actually start treating my skin every day, and not only occasionally when I had the break outs. So I hope that you’ll learn from my experience and start treating your skin properly, RIGHT NOW. Don’t wait to do it at a later date/age.
The most important step to treat your dry & dehydrated skin is to ALWAYS keep it moisturized. I’ve noticed, and learned that the best time to moisturize your skin is at night, before you go to sleep, so that the creams can stay on your skin longer and work their magic.
This is my basic routine to keep my face properly moisturized, and I think that the serum does most of the work. But if you feel like your skin needs more, you can use a day cream as well (with high SPF!) and a lighter serum, before your day cream and your makeup.
From time to time, you can use a scrubbing product (but try to be really gentle, and always pick the right one for your skin!), and a deep moisturizing mask, preferably, one you can wear all night and can be absorbed by your skin while you sleep. Definitely try not to overdo it with these products!
