REVIEW: Vivamune Health Chews

A while back we told you that we were giving Vivamune a try. Not only are Irie and Tiki taking it but our cats are testing out Vivamune as well. (Irie laid off the chews for a couple of weeks while on medication, just because we didn’t want to get confused, but has otherwise been taking the chews for the past six weeks.)

First, an explanation of WHY we wanted to try Vivamune. The reasons varied from pet to pet:

Itchy skin. Both Irie and Tiki had an issue with frequent scratching. We knew they were flea-free (we flea comb Irie every day, just to check) so that wasn’t the explanation. However, we live in what’s often called the allergy capital of the country, with our warm weather bringing year-around allergens that range from grass to mold to (coming soon) ragweed and goldenrod.
  • Poor coat. Lucky, the newest addition to our family, had a coat that was, at best, spotty. When we adopted him on Valentine’s Day, Lucky was on his second shelter stay and had an upper respiratory infection. We waited six weeks after that infection to get Lucky neutered–but his coat remained so thin, especially around his ears, that we started researching mange in cats. (Irie had mange when we adopted her but it’s less common in cats.)
  • Vivamune, a once-daily chew, was created specifically to aid in helping pets have a healthy skin and coat as well as healthy joints and mobility and a healthy immune system and digestive system. When we began the trial, we weren’t as concerned about joints and mobility but, after Irie tore her ACL and underwent surgery, this also became a prime concern.

The USA-made chews are like a special treat for Irie and Tiki; we’re also happy to report that our cats (who can be very picky) also love the taste!

    And the results?

I really feel that we’re seeing a diminishing in the scratching (and, in Tiki’s case, paw chewing)! With fall allergies really underway now, both dogs seem far more comfortable than they have in the past before they began Vivamune.

And our kitten Lucky? His coat has gone from drab to fab! Lucky now has a thick, rich coat that’s amazingly glossy!

A big paws up for Vivamune healthy chews! If you’d like to try Vivamune with your dogs (or cats), please check out our post on how to get a FREE bag of Vivamune for just the cost of shipping and handling. (Hurry, though…this offer ends October 15!)
