Taking Inspiration to Execution
I always ask my clients to provide me with as many inspiration photos as possible before we start pulling together ideas for their space. I find that most of the time people limit their inspiration photos to only photos of the exact room type we’re working on. But you can find inspiration anywhere- a bathroom concept could turn into a kitchen scheme and a living room look can work for a bedroom. Take this AMAZING room for example. I adore everything about it (how I wish I could have a black room again…) but wanted to show how this look can easily become a master bedroom suite:
I took the sofa linen color and clean lines and found a headboard with the same look. A pair of natural wood side tables are reminiscent of the coffee table. The walls would be painted my favorite Pitch Black by Farrow & Ball. The hint of orangey-coral translates to some coral border bedding (similar to my old bedding featured in Better Homes & Gardens that everyone and their mother emailed me about!) Take a peek at the overall scheme and start looking for inspiration in all sorts of rooms!
