Sunday Treat

We don’t know about you, but for us there is nothing more inspiring than architecture and design on a Sunday. We could look at interior and let our minds wander for hours. So today we decided to do some of the work for you, with images of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Villa Tugendhat located in Brno, Czech Republic. It is one of Europe’s pioneering prototypes of modern architecture. As fans of spacious homes with simple homes, Grete and Fritz Tugendhat commissioned German architect Mies van der Rohe to start the work back in the late 1920s. Filled with lavish materials, abnormal construction methods, and extraordinary new technologies, the villa soon became an icon of modernism. Mies also specified all the furnishings in collaboration with interior designer Lilly Reich, the Tugendhat and Brno chairs are still in production.
