But first… Emma here, and I’m curious: have you jumped on board with this whole maxi skirt / maxi dress trend yet? If not, man oh man are you strong and steadfast in your fashion choices. I swear, I almost ALWAYS cave. Remember when they said ankle boots were the new thing? I loathed them… and now I wear these (and love them). Jeggings? I swore up and down I’d never wear them. And I am wearing them this very second as I write this. It just takes me a bit longer to come around to a trend. I guess I sometimes wait to see if I can actually pull it off, you know? Well, except for jumpsuits, and rompers. And those weird floral parachute pants everyone is raving about. Sorry, guys. Never gonna happen. But I digress.

When it comes to summer weddings, bridesmaid maxi dresses are one of the greatest ideas ever, second to when people started putting pockets on dresses and skirts. (I love that. I reached into my skirt pocket the other day and pulled out a pacifier and a pair of baby socks. It just works.) A maxi dress is usually long in length, pairs with sandals or heels extremely well, and is ultra-comfy, even in hot weather. Case in point? If you choose maxi dresses for your bridesmaids, they will LOVE them. And they’ll admire you for being the coolest bride ever, defying the laws of uncomfortable, unflattering, over-priced frocks they’ll never wear again. I swear, you guys, I love maxi dresses way more than I should.
