7 Things Every Wedding Coffee Bar Needs to Have

Hi, loves! Emma here. I’m not lying when I say that coffee ranks pretty high up there in my list of my favorite things. From espresso to cappuccino to Keurig blends (like this, my latest obsession) to pumpkin-spice fall flavors coming out next month, I’d say that coffee is a fascination. Earlier I told our Twitter followers about the funny thing I almost did this morning so you can imagine that coffee is a pretty wonderful start to my everydays. It wakes me up, smells heavenly, and it’s the juice that keeps me going, going, going. So when I saw wedding coffee bar ideas popping up on our Pinterest boards, I knew I had to turn this into an inspiration post. Because, when you get down to it, coffee and weddings are both pretty amazing; add in a few handcrafted touches and the result is awe-inspiring. If you’re a coffee-addict like me, you’ll love these seven things every wedding coffee bar NEEDS to have. Enjoy!

7 Things Every Wedding Coffee Bar Needs

1. A Stunning Display

First, you need a central table where guests can help themselves to coffee. This is one of my most favorite setups to date:

2. Coffee. And a lot of it!

Keep coffee hot in these, which also doubles as a dispenser.

3. All the Fixin’s

Cream? Sugar? Stirrers? Make sure you’ve got ‘em! (Pssst. Include a small basket for discards.)

4. Coffee Sleeves

While not totally necessary, coffee sleeves are an insanely creative touch, especially when they’re personalized! You can make your own for SUPER CHEAP.

DIY Coffee Sleeves

Want to make your own wedding coffee sleeves? DO IT. I saw these and was ready to get my Sharpie marker reader to make ‘em myself. At home. Just for fun.

o Paper Coffee Sleeves (um, 50 of them for like $2? Sweet.)
o Markers
o Pretty Penmanship Patience to Write 100 of Them

Write a custom message (your names, wedding date, or guests’ names and table assignments as makeshift escort cards!) on the sleeve; place over disposable coffee cups (like these). Easy!

5. Coffee Cups

Whether you use mugs…

… or you use disposable cups (go eco-friendly! use these instead of the others)…

… guests obviously need something to hold their cup of joe.

6. Fun Decor

Add a few decorative touches to draw attention to your coffee bar! Some of my favorites? Apothecary jars filled with whole coffee beans, ‘love is brewing’ or ‘the perfect blend’ banners, or vintage inspired tin coffee signs (like this one and that one, shown below):

7. A Chalkboard or Sign

Tie it all together with a sign…

… or a chalkboard, for a coffeehouse feel. Add these as a definite crowd-pleaser!

BONUS: Take-home Coffee Bean Favors

And, last but not least, a fun idea we love (whether or not you do a wedding coffee bar) is to have take home coffee favors for guests. These adorable handmade bags by Mavora are perfect!
