soft trench + girlfriend jeans

Soft drape trench xxsp girlfriend jeans 00p c/o WHBM, Manolo pumps
Spring felt so far away with our recent onslaught of snow, but the balmy temps earlier this week has me hopeful again! Today's post is in partnership with White House Black Market showing some of my selects from their newest spring collection. They are having a rare promo through 2/21 where you can take 25% off and get free shipping on all full-priced orders with code 51586. For this transitional outfit, I've paired a long, softly draping piece with cuffed bottoms that are slightly more rugged and casual. Both pieces are on the slimmer-cut side, and are shown here with no alterations!

If you are petite but love the look of boyfriend jeans, I often suggest keeping an eye out for "girlfriend" cut denim. These usually have the slouchy, comfy feel of boyfriend jeans but in a slimmer, more feminine cut that won't overwhelm a small frame. The ones I'm wearing here can be un-cuffed to a full ankle length, or rolled up as shown for a more casual look. It's hard to tell via photos, but each of the distressed areas are reinforced with patches sewn on from the interior.

Some of my favorite details on this trench are the cropped back flap and the long back slit. The belt actually sits higher at my natural waist, allowing the bottom to flow long and freely as you walk.

Measurements of trench in xxsp: 13.5" across shoulders, 22" sleeve length, and about 40" total length. Jacket is fully-lined and of medium weight.
Measurements of jeans in 00p: 13.25" across waist, 17" across hips, 7" rise, 24" inseam when cuffed (it's how they arrive out of the package), 26.25" inseam when un-cuffed. Fit is true to size like a 24 waist in denim.

This isn't pictured but I also got to try on WHBM spring shoes, and am thrilled to share about these versatile brown platform sandals, a close dupe for my pair (posted here) from years ago. I always get questions on those and have to say the WHBM version is notably more comfortable in comparison, after a few hours of test-wearing. The all-over neutral color is great with both bare legs or pants/jeans, and the platform makes walking in heels of that height a little easier. The front toe version runs a little narrow so a 5.5 was the best fit for me.

Thank you to WHBM for partnering on this post!
