February Fun

I hope everyone is having a lovely February, and that you are all sticking with the goals and resolutions that each of you made for yourselves. I'm steadily working on the organizing and decluttering, but for now, I am on a mini break from it (partly because last week was cookbook and recipe organization, and this week is coupon storage solutions and organization, both of which I don't have!). I look at it as a lifestyle, not a resolution, and even when I am not throwing things out of my house, I am training myself to not 'want.' It is getting easier and easier the longer I'm on this simpler- lifestyle/declutter/minimalism path.

I'm almost too embarrassed to post a "before" of my filing system and workspace, but it makes the "after" picture that much sweeter! Soooo... Before organizing...
After
Workspace - after

So, if you have fallen off the 'resolutions' bandwagon this year, just remind yourself that the year is not over, it's only just begun! You've still got a solid 10 months to achieve your goals. Sometimes you just need to remind yourself that everything in life is a process, and it takes time. Then give yourself a high five, a pat on the back, and try, try, try again.

Dave and I have been enjoying his Christmas present (24 preplanned dates in 2015 - 2/month) and we have already cashed in both dates for the month! We planned a weekend in San Antonio (a trip we had planned at the end of last year - I just incorporated it into the preplanned dates). It was great to get away, and you won't believe this, I GOT TO SLEEP IN. Best getaway EVER.

In front of the Alamo - I'm smiling in the picture, but the history of the Alamo is devastatingly sad.
We went on a horse-drawn-carriage ride. I wish we would have gotten a picture of the horse, Seymour. (He was cute, and he had a smart hat on.)
Late night dessert at the river walk.

For our second date, I decided to incorporate the kiddos in an at-home Valentine's dinner prepared by yours truly. It was complete with decorations, menus, and fancy glasses.

The fun part was that everyone had to fill out a menu:

Ethan's dinner choices
But the catch was that I was the only one who actually knew what they were ordering. So for an appetizer, Ethan ordered #1 (Huggin') and #7 (Kissin'), but what he ACTUALLY ordered was a fork and a drink! (Get the printables HERE: www.TheDatingDivas.com

Unfortunately, I think the guys were more hungry than entertained, so we ditched the menus (and the fun of the event) and had quite the yummy dinner! With homemade chocolate raspberry cake.

The babies have been up to their usual busy little selves, and on Saturday (2/14/15), Emmett decided that he was going to walk. And he did for the rest of the day! He goes back and forth between crawling and walking now, but Dave and I officially have 3 toddlers in the house! (Until May when Liam turns three and becomes a "preschooler.")

The three youngest boys are sort of learning to play together a LITTLE better, though the twins have taken up swatting at each other and occasionally biting, but mostly they make a big fuss at each other. I keep telling myself "they are going to grow out of the fighting stage," but who am I trying to kid?! HA! It's only going to get worse! 😆

So I guess for the most part, life is somewhat calm...at least comparatively speaking to what it was a year ago!

Sunday afternoon drive (on a Tuesday)
Ethan pushing Emmett around in the cozy coupe
Great-grandma and gizmo visiting for a few days
I'm not sure what we were doing, but we were having fun! (I just wanted to let you all see my day-to-day glorious-ness. Ha!)
Me and Emmett goofing.
Me and Ethan and Owen goofing.
Owen showing some love to his nurse, Tanya.

Well, that's the short version of what's going on around here. You all keep on keeping on, and may God bless you and your family!!

3 good things:

1. Fake. Mustaches.

Torture by fake mustaching.
Too cute!

2.) Away time with the best husband in the world, ever. He gets me.

3.) God's enduring grace.
