Chanel Spring 2015 Collection Les 4 Ombres – 236 Tisse Fantaisie

Spring collections are my weakness when it comes to makeup! But you already knew that~ If you follow me on Instagram then you know I managed to grab quite the haul when it came to the Chanel Spring 2015 collection! I’m unsure whether I’ll manage to get around to reviewing most of the items, but I knew the Chanel Tisse Fantaisie palette was something I wanted to feature since I had a pretty strong / differing opinion on it!

I’ll be honest, I’ve never had the best experience with the Chanel baked eye shadows. I did a comparison post half a year ago and it’s pretty clear that the quality and pigmentation is way off! But reading the descriptions online gave me a feeling that they may have changed.

I have no idea if they are still baked, but I can assure you that they feel pretty different to the original baked eye shadows. They felt softer, creamier and a lot easier to generally work with. I wouldn’t go as far as to say it’s equal to the quality of the pressed shadows, but it’s pretty close and the texture is generally different. Creamier and less powdery, so it really depends on what you prefer.

I will say that I was pretty impressed to see that Chanel provided a little booklet on how to use the shadows, came with 3 different looks which is certainly a benefit to those who may not be as comfortable using colours that are a little less usual.

All in all, I’m not disappointed by this palette, I’d go as far as to say I was a little impressed based on my previous experienced with baked eye shadows from Chanel. But overall, if I had to focus on quality luxury shadows then I’d still defer you to Dior or Tom Ford.

If you’re interested, you can pick one up online for $61USD, I’ve seen them at David Jones in Australia, likely for around $90-100AUD.
