Estee Lauder Perfectionist Youth-Infusing Makeup Review, Swatches and Photos

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, then I feel like you start to notice certain patterns or habits of mine that I usually feel confident I can keep to myself. But then I read one of your lovely comments and realise I’m probably one of the most transparent people out there. Funnily enough if you know me in real life, you’ll know that’s sadly the case as well. I’m the worst liar and I’ve never won a game of Poker on purpose.

So I’m just going to put it all out there, I’ve been going through a bit of a foundation phase, so be prepared to see many more foundation reviews in the near future. I don’t have a problem, it’s just a phase… I swear.

Today I have for you one of Estee Lauder’s newest foundations called Perfectionist Youth-Infusing Makeup, and following what seems to be a trend for more recent foundations, contains age-defying properties. It’s designed to firm, brighten and hydrate your skin whilst providing medium coverage for your skin.

I actually found the foundation to be kind of similar to Dior’s Diorskin Star Fluid Foundation in terms of consistency, coverage and longevity. One pump is enough to give you medium coverage for your entire face, but add more and you can definitely build the coverage to full. That said, I still didn’t find it as full coverage as Estee Lauder’s Double Wear which is almost like wearing a mask! The foundation dries to a satin matte finish, perfect and could easily be used without powder.

Generally speaking though, it’s a great quality foundation that works in a similar way to many other high end foundations I already use. I’ve read some reviews stating that the stand out trait for this product was how hydrating it was, but I’ll be honest and say I didn’t notice anything major. Maybe my expectations are too high, as someone who suffers from eczema, I’m always looking for makeup that is able to at least hydrate those flaky dry patches without the need for me to constantly reapply during the day (I have to have a bottle of moisturiser at my desk at work to hydrate dry patches many times throughout the day!), and I can’t say that was my experience with this foundation.

That said I don’t want you to walk away thinking this isn’t a great foundation because it is! I just think it’s very similar to many existing foundations such as Diorskin and YSL’s Youth Liberator so if you like those, you’ll love this too! But don’t see this as the miracle foundation that cures all, because I’m still looking for that too

If you’re interested, you can pick it up online from the USA for $45USD or locally at David Jones for $68AUD.
