Brian Atwood's Madison Avenue Store Closes Suddenly

News broke last week that the Jones Group, the parent company that produces several fashion lines, has decided to discontinue Rachel Roy’s eponymous high end line in an effort to get rid of brands that underperforming and by the sounds of it, that was only the first in a line of changes that the company has planned as Brian Atwood is the latest designer hit by the changes.

The shoe designer’s Madison Avenue boutique closed suddenly last week without warning. Neither the Jones Group or the designer himself have released a statement explaining the reasoning behind the closure. It’s definitely not a good sign and with the company holding investments in labels like Stuart Weitzman and Nine West, it’ll be interesting to see if any of those are at stake too.
