Louis Vuitton To Show Resort Collection In Monaco Next Month

It hasn’t been long since Nicolas Ghesquière took the reins at Louis Vuitton but already he’s making changes and it’s not just with the clothes.

On Wednesday, Financial Times fashion editor Vanessa Friedman posted the above tweet, revealing that the brand will host its first destination show for its resort 2015 collection in Monaco next month.

It comes as a time where many of the other luxury brands are seriously investing in their resort shows. Chanel, for example, has been flying press to places like Singapore and Scotland for its resort shows and Dior followed suit last May but showing its resort 2014 collection in Monaco.

It’s a clever move on Louis Vuitton‘s part, especially considering the important of resort collections today as sales drivers and the fact that Ghesquière will be designing the collection himself (under Marc Jacobs reign the resort collections were made by the women’s studio), is testament to that too.
