REBELLIOUS RED

I find myself probably not a Chinese New Year person after having been an active participant in it for over 14 years(since I could ever remember). The traditional masses love red. Thus, if you could ever have the opportunity to ramble around a megalopolis in China on Chinese New Year, you would never be less surprised to find out that you were in a tidal wave of red (or burgundy). Unfortunately I’m not a huge fan of red-all-over. Plus, after embracing the most appropriate form of menswear in a classy three-piece suit and a burgundy coat last year, I’m thinking a sort of red that can be easily told apart from festive air, to say, rebellious red, along with a scent of grunge and destruction.

Black, as a contrasting tone for red, is extensively used in this look with a variety of textures seen saffiano leather, faux leather, stretched cotton, and even pony hair. The only chink of red being an eye catcher is running as a patch shoulder of my favorite plaided shirt by Equipment. It is soft ,fluid, and well executed, while innately triumphing a salute that punks. It’s my first time wrapping a leather jacket around the waist rather than wearing(or more occasionally draping) it (on the shoulders) , and it is being a well embellishment to proportion as a belt will do, yet a far more rebellious one. And yah, eyes on this safety pin bag from Versus by Versace, it adds another rebellious touch to the whole ensemble.

I’m wearing…

Equipment plaided blouse (sold out) | Cheap Monday skinnies |faux leather jacket (shop ‘Merci’ here and a budget one here) | Dr. Martens pony-hair oxfords |Pixie Market rings here & here | Versus by Versace safety pin bag
