Postcards from Los Angeles: From Silver Lake to Santa Monica

Los Angeles... the love affair continues. For eight years now I've been traveling back and forth between Los Angeles and London and each trip comes with new discoveries and new reasons to pack my bags and head out there for a more permanent arrangement.
The city is magical, plain and simple. The colours, the people, and the incredible ebb and flow of the cultural scene all add up to make a place that is ready for ongoing exploration. So naturally I have to make a regular trip to keep up with what's hot and well, what's maybe a little less than hot. Truly, it's tough to uncover any part of this city that isn't photographable.
Over the course of one week I snapped over 2,000 pictures. This involved eating 2 cheeseburgers, drinking 20 liters of water and 2 bottles of wine, eating in 15 restaurants and driving over 300 miles in Los Angeles alone. Needless to say, we covered a lot of ground. Oh, and yes that means you'll be reading a lot about this beautiful city over the next few weeks. Not to worry as they'll be plenty of fashion thrown in the mix here as we did a lot of style shooting while we were out in LA. I'll also be talking about a newly discovered way to get there that's glam of all glam and an incredible way to stay while in residence. So sit back, take out the notebook and get ready to jot down a few ideas for your next trip out to the beach. But first, here are a few of the pics I absolutely love but had no real place in a story this time around. So, they get their own special story as postcards from LA.

Travel Note: If you are flying out to LA from Europe anytime soon, check out eBookers. I flew out with Air New Zealand for this trip (more on that tomorrow- it was insanely awesome), which is also available to book through eBookers - along with a choice of 250 other airlines. In a nutshell, they're a great site to use when looking for airline or hotel advice, having over 20 years experience in the business. How can you argue with a site that has access to 110,000 hotels around the world? Oh, and they've just launched a new Bonus rewards programme that allows for eBookers customers to earn loyalty points on everything from hotels to car bookings. Get booking. LA is calling. _________________________________________________________________
