News| Fashion titan Kenzo Takada dies aged 81

The creator of the iconic fragrance ‘flower by KENZO’ passed away after contracting Covid-19

He founded his name sake brand (which means three in Japanese) in 1970 and open his first flagship store in 1976. In 1993 LVMH acquired KENZO for $80 million dollars.

“He brought colours in the winter, Japanese fabrics and mixed prints like stripes and flowers,” Picart recalls. Takada was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor in Paris in 2016. – Sylvie Grumbach for VOGUE Magazine
