Staple Denim

As you know, black skinny jeans are a staple part of my sartorial diet, so it’s always nice to welcome a new pair into the warm embrace of my wardrobe. I say wardrobe, when in fact floordrobe would be more appropriate seeing as we’ve now reached maximum capacity on the minuscule amount of storage in our little flat… Still, there’s always room for another piece of denim right.

This particular pair are from Gap’s new resolution denim range, designed for a better, long-lasting and flattering fit (in shorthand; they don’t go saggy after one meagre wear). I’ve always been a big fan of Gap, relying on the high street favourite for cotton basics, knitwear and good quality denim in the best washes ever since my mum first pulled me into one their branded fleece hoodies as a kid. So when they asked me to style up some new season pieces as part of their Styld By series, I didn’t hesitate to get involved. I’ve always found great boyfriend jeans in Gap but was pleasantly surprised to find so many skinny styles that worked. Goes without saying that the colour and rips of these instantly spoke to me and with a couple of inches hacked off the bottom once I got them home (I’m doing this to all my jeans right now), they were good to go.

Teamed with other everyday staples (black ankle boots, chunky knit, cross body bag all in there), they slotted right into the menagerie of casual, comfy essentials currently on rotation from the floordrobe.
