Colors can be neutrals too. Now that it's spring, I've been embracing more colored pieces. Pastel colors are perfect for this because they still look pretty neutral and go with most of what else is hanging in my closet. When I was in New York last, French Connection had just released their spring collections, which featured a lot pale blues and pinks. I was immediately drawn to both, they're a good substitute for your basic greys and beige.

I also haven't packed away my booties yet, because of outfits like this. They're perfect for dressing down a look or a piece that you might think only works at night, like a leather skirt. The light beige color of this pair from Koolaburra are the perfect spring bootie, if you ask me!
