[Sponsored video] The Language of Love and some messages

French fashion brand La Redoute have taken it upon themselves to bring a bit more love into this world. For those of you who don’t know anything about La Redoute, they make French style easy. It’s a simple, elegant style that has an air of romance about it. I particularly love the range of dresses because they’re all such flattering shapes. In this day and age it can often be difficult to find dresses that come to the knee or below but La Redoute has plenty (good news for my legs!).

When I was asked to work on this campaign it looked like a fun thing to write about but after watching the video I now have all these things I want to say to the people in my life. I can’t believe that only 30% of us say ‘I love you’ to someone daily. I’m so lucky in that I get to say that but also have it said to me. It’s sad that 22% of people haven’t said ‘I love you’ in over a year and that’s not necessarily because they aren’t in a relationship. Sometimes our friends need to hear those three words just as much as our family and partners do too.

As some of you may know, I’ve had a terrible couple of weeks but I’m lucky in that I have people around me who are there for me.

Watch this video, all the way through.

The message behind this and the words said made me tear up but the whole video also made me want to declare my love to a few people.

To Ben (my boyfriend of almost 10 years), thank you for keeping me sane when I often feel crazy. I love you.

To my mum, you are my best friend. You make me laugh but you’re also there to comfort me when I get down, tell me off when I’m being silly, praise me for my successes and go shopping with me when I have nothing to wear.

To my dad, I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to know that I make you proud. Thank you for looking after me and sharing my love of cars.

To Ali, thanks for being my shoulder to cry on, even though I never take you up on the offer.

To Lucie, you’re the place I go when I need someone who gets me. When I need silliness, unquestioning love and a bottle of whiskey. The legs to my nose.

To Rose, our souls are connected in ways I can’t even describe. I sometimes think we’re the same person. I miss you.

If there’s someone out there who you need to say something to, go and do it. It’s probably something they need and want to hear.

This was a sponsored post on behalf of La Redoute that has really sparked something within me.
