Janathon 2015 day 1

Happy new year! I couldn’t start the first post of the year without saying that, although you’re all probably sick of hearing it by now.

Breakfast smoothie

So it’s the start of a new year and that can only mean one thing, Janathon. I had a really quiet new year so ran this morning, after making another smoothie in my NutriBullet, which is rapidly becoming my favourite new toy.

For my breakfast smoothie I used, spinach, banana, berries and strawberry with a little water, it was really good and it filled me up too.

After letting my breakfast go down and putting the Christmas decorations back in the garage, I headed out for my run. I’m pretty much starting from scratch again so my run was just over 2 miles and passed with no drama’s. I ran 2.1 miles in 20:21, getting home just in time to miss the worst of the rain.

Post run smoothie

Once I got home I was starving, the usual post run state we all know so well. After having a couple of glasses of water I decided to have another smoothie, instead of grabbing the nearest thing to eat. This time I used spinach, a couple of tangerines, banana and almond milk. I’ve never tried almond milk before and was pleasantly surprised.

So day 1 of Janathon is over and I’m back at work tomorrow. For tomorrow’s exercise I’m thinking of doing some yoga and maybe some strength work for my legs. I’ve not decided on all of this years running goals yet, I think I’ll concentrate on Janathon completed this month and work on Jantastic. Until next time.
