Following on from my post on the
Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro palette review and swatches - the amazing dupe for the Lorac Pro, I knew it wouldn't be long before I'd give in and order the sister palette,
Iconic Pro 2, which is a dupe for the Lorac Pro 2. I'd been thinking about how to get my hands on the second Lorac palette for a while, as I loved the look of the shades, so it was a no brainer to pick up the much more easily available and far cheaper
Makeup Revolution version.
The
Iconic Pro palettes have a more luxurious feel compared to other palettes I've tried from Makeup Revolution. They come in a shiny rose gold box, and matte black rubberised packaging. You also get a proper double-ended makeup brush rather than a sponge-tip applicator you'll never use!
I think the shadows in the Iconic Pro palettes are of a higher quality too - in this palette every shadow is well pigmented, creamy and easy to work with and blend - I didn't have trouble swatching any of them - even the paler matte shades.
I've tried to show more natural swatches, to give a better idea of what these shadows will actually look like when worn. Sometimes I see watches where it's like someone's applied five layers of the shadow, wet - the swatch looks amazing, but it's not realistic, so I'm trying to keep it real over here!
Just like its Lorac twin, the
Iconic Pro 2 palette contains 8 matte and 8 shimmer shades. The shades are mainly neutrals, which of course I love, but there are also some pops of colour in there without anything to garish or any shades I'd never dare to wear. Ambition and New Rules are great shades to add a bit of interest to my usual neutral looks. It's a great mix of colours for travel as on the left of the palette you have softer, more daytime shades, and then on the right of the palette, deeper, smokier shades.
I'm really pleased I picked this palette up - for £6.99 it's a real bargain for the quality of the shadows and the range of colours, and now I no longer need to stress about where to find a Lorac 2 palette!
