How to Make Koshary, an Egyptian One-Pot Wonder

Inspired by conversations on the Food52 Hotline, we're sharing tips and tricks that make navigating all of our kitchens easier and more fun.

Today: KatieQ shows us how to cook Egyptian koshary (koshari, kushari, kosheri…).

Lara Hamilton's post on The Cairo Kitchen made us curious about koshary, a vegetarian one-pot wonder. Naturally, we wanted to know more about the Egyptian street food that's traditionally made with lentils, rice, macaroni, shareya (vermicelli noodles), chickpeas, and tomato sauce and topped with fried onions. KatieQ helped us out. Watch on.
