Valentines Day Cocktail Recipes Everyone Will Love

I’m not a big drinker but I do absolutely love a well made drink. I have to admit I can be such a pretentious prick when it comes to drinks. I can’t have a drink at a normal bar unless they know how to take something as simple as gin, lime, and mint and make something memorable. Before I did this, I didn’t see how it could be that hard– and trust me, I’ve gotten my share of nasty drinks–YUCK. Anyway, my ramblings are for a reason, I promise!

What I want to say is I love love love Craft Cocktails and what better time than Valentines Day to share some recipes? Thanks to my friends at Noble Experiment (my fave craft cocktail lounge in SD,) I got a few lessons in how to make some tasty, flirty cocktails. Let me tell you– these are sexy drinks. Below are 4 Valentines Day Cocktail recipes that you can make easily at home:

EAST SIDE RICKEY

  • 2 oz Gin
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 3/4 ounce simple syrup
  • muddled mint cucumber (I had no idea what muddled meant… if you do your awesome and too cool for school but if you don’t.. apparently it just means mashing it down in the bottom of the drink)
  • club soda
  • SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE with a shaker (short shake to not over dilute it)

BRAMBLE

  • 2 oz Gin
  • 3/4 fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4 simple syrup
  • 3 muddled blackerrys
  • crushed ice
  • after you put lots of crushed ice on top you can add a few berries at the very top (not muddled) so you can enjoy some alcohol infused berries later.. my favorite part)

El DIABLO

  • 2 oz tequila
  • 3/4 ounce lime
  • 3/4 ounce fresh ginger syrup
  • 1/2 ounce casis liquor
  • club soda
  • whip shake! (one quick whipping motion)

QUEENS PARK SWIZZLE

  • 2 oz light rum
  • healthy pinch of mint
  • 1 oz lime
  • 3/4 simple syrup or white sugar cube
  • muddle all ingredients together (leave mint on bottom then swizzle it on the bottom around the edge of the glass)
  • crushed ice

let me know if any of you plan on making this! Do you like when I share recipes? Let me know so I can keep little posts like this coming. XX Francesca
