What I love about Layering

While I like layering for the cold, my favorite is our crazy california winter/summer weather where every moment is changing. I love this because you can wear layering combinations that wouldn’t really work anywhere else throughout most of the year.

I love to find new ways to pair unlikely items together. A combination that is born slightly out of necessity and mostly out of sheer love of textures and silhouettes. Sometimes these combinations happen best when I am just sorting through my closet and decide to try random items together. Layering for me is a lot of fun actually. There are so many things you can do. What I love about layering is in the end it gives such a personal touch to your look.

This day I added this ethereal draping embellished tunic over my short skirt and under a structured jacket. I could also add a crop top on top of the tunic (under the jacket) for an extra layer and slight change in silhouette, but I like how simple the layering came out here. Easy, simple, slight boho and a little rock and roll.
